The Cabin:

The cabin is a 2 storey log home and studio. The artist retreat is part of a supportive community of local residents at Crag Lake, many of whom are visual artists.

The second floor of the cabin is a 900 sq. ft. open studio with large windows overlooking the forest and Crag Lake. There is a daybed in an alcove of the studio that could accommodate a second sleeping area. On the first floor, a 900 sq. ft. living space, with one bedroom, accommodates an independent artist, or an artist couple.

During the summer months Ted Harrison's original one room log cabin provides additional studio space.

Artists in residents are responsible for providing any specialized equipment required for research, development and production of their proposed project. Please contact us for a list of limited available equipment.

Please Note:

- No smoking or pets are allowed inside the cabin.

- The Artist Retreat is located in a true wilderness setting. While there are year round residents at Crag Lake, it is a relatively remote area. The cabin is 14 kilometres from the village of Carcross and is 90 kilometres from Whitehorse. There is abundant wildlife in the immediate vicinity including deer, moose, rabbits, eagles, black bears, grizzly bears, sheep and wolves.

- Living space and studio space, including all utilities are at no cost to the artist.

- The Retreat is on a water delivery system, and artists are asked to conserve water as much as possible.
